Library & Information Services
The NIWA Library & Information Services house the knowledge base supporting NIWA’s researchers.
What’s in the Library?
The collections, in many formats from print through to electronic, have valuable historic material as well as the major scientific journals and reports in key research areas in the atmospheric, marine and freshwater sciences.
NIWA'S libraries provide lending, reference, interloan and information services to other libraries throughout New Zealand and internationally.
The library database covers the holdings of the libraries (books, journals, reports etc) and also indexes papers published by NIWA researchers. You can search the library database for more information or browse lists of recently published papers.

Who can use the services?
The Library and Information Service is primarily for NIWA researchers and affiliates. For further information contact the library staff.
Getting documents
Other than material published by NIWA, we do not supply directly to the public – books, reports and papers located in the library database can be obtained by your local library through the interloan system.
