Welcome to this special edition of  Natural Hazards Update, highlighting the Shallow Survey 2012.

NIWA, GNS and LINZ are organising the international conference, which focuses on High Resolution Surveys in Shallow Water and covers:

• Seismic surveys
• Bathymetry
• Hydrographic work
• Coastal zone management
• Hazard mapping
• Habitat mapping
• Data processing, management and archiving 

The conference will be held at Te Papa, Wellington, from the 20th – 24th February.
